Kristiansand, Norway

Today we explored Kristiansand on our own. As we walked out of the port, we could see our ship reflected in the glass exterior of the Kilden Performing Arts Center.

Before we disembarked, we had enjoyed the view of Kristiansand from our verandah.

We walked along a small canal and over a bridge into the town of Kristiansand. The houses or shops along the water were in reds and yellows.

Brent had been hoping to visit the Fish Market, a main attraction in Kristiansand. Unfortunately it was a Sunday and it was closed - but a couple of restaurants were getting ready to open at noon for lunch.

We walked into the town. Most shops were closed, but it was fun to see the buildings and sculptures.

We stopped to enjoy a small park on the waterfront. There was a white wagtail searching for food in the grass and more statues to admire, as well as a huge vase in the middle of the park.

Then we walked back to the Fish Market area for lunch. I had fish and chips and Brent had a fish soup.

We returned to the ship after lunch.

Nice picture of the reflected ship! I like the homes in their neat row.
