In just a few days, my husband, Brent, and I will leave Tacoma for Fort Lauderdale. From there we will journey around the world beginning on Tuesday, January 3rd. As my students return to the classroom, I will be embarking on a world cruise on Holland America's Zuiderdam. I hate to leave them behind, so I will be keeping a blog of my travels. This way my students can join me virtually as I learn about new places.
Last week, we shipped off our suitcases with Luggage Forward. We won't be able to get away with just the carryon luggage we usually take. Being able to ship it ahead is super convenient though. This way we don't have to worry about baggage claim or lugging it along with us the week we are in Florida and the Bahamas before the trip. I was surprised at how many things you aren't allowed to ship ahead though! I expected the no cameras or electronics and even no prescription medicines. However, you also can't ship ahead over-the-counter medicine or vitamins, any kind of food, anything with built-in batteries, or equipment like a knee brace. Be sure to read the list carefully if you ever decide to ship luggage ahead!
Great idea!
